Privacy policy

What this site records, what the checkout records, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who runs this Horse Honey site

horsehoneys.com is run by Horsehoneys, a USA authorized Horse Honey retailer, 1345 Avenue of the Americas, Floor 33, New York, NY 10105, USA. This policy covers the pages of this website. It explains what the site records about you, what happens when you place an order, and what you can ask us to do.

The short version: you can read every page here without an account, the pages set no advertising or analytics cookies of their own, and payment details never reach us.

What this Horse Honey site collects

When you browse. Like most websites, the servers that deliver these pages keep standard technical logs: your IP address, the browser and device type, the page requested, the time, and the page that sent you here. Our hosting and network providers use those logs to keep the site running, to block abuse and to fix errors.

When you write to us. If you email the website inbox, we keep your name, your email address and what you wrote, so that we can answer and keep a record of any correction that follows.

When you call. Calls go to the order desk that handles orders, tracking, changes and refunds for the checkout. That desk keeps its own record of your call and your order, under the checkout’s terms rather than ours.

What the Horse Honey checkout collects

When you click an order button, you leave this site for a separate secure checkout run by our marketplace partner. That checkout collects your name, delivery address, email, phone number if you give it, and payment details, and it is covered by its own privacy policy, shown on the checkout page.

We never see your full card number. We may receive order-level information from the checkout, such as the fact that an order was placed, its pack size and its value, so that we can be paid and can help if you ask us about an order.

The Horse Honey order link and referral tracking

The order buttons on this site send you through a link that tells the checkout which site referred you. That is how Horsehoneys is paid on the order. The checkout or its tracking partner may set a cookie on its own domain to remember the referral for a limited time. Blocking or clearing cookies in your browser stops that; it does not stop you ordering.

Cookies on this Horse Honey site

The pages on horsehoneys.com do not set advertising, analytics or social-media cookies, and they do not store anything in your browser for tracking. Our hosting or network provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie that helps tell people from automated traffic. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

How we use Horse Honey visitor information

  • To answer the questions you send us and to correct pages when you point out an error.
  • To keep the site secure and working, and to understand errors when something breaks.
  • To be paid on orders, through the referral information described above.
  • To meet legal duties, such as keeping records the law requires or responding to a lawful request.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-site advertising, and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask for them.

Who we share Horse Honey information with

Only with the service providers who run the site for us (hosting, network security and email), and only for those jobs. If you ask us to pass an order question to the order desk, we pass on what is needed for that. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our visitors and our business.

How long Horse Honey records are kept

Server logs are kept by the hosting and network providers for a short period they set, then deleted or rolled over. Emails are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of corrections, then deleted. You can ask for your emails to be deleted sooner, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Your Horse Honey privacy choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Residents of some U.S. states, including California, have further rights under state law, such as the right to know what categories of information are collected and the right to opt out of a sale, which we do not make. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

To make a request, write to the website inbox listed in the site footer, with “privacy request” in the subject line. We may ask you to confirm the email address you used, so that we release information only to the right person. For anything held by the checkout or the order desk, ask them directly; the checkout’s own policy explains how.

What the Horse Honey site does not collect

  • No account, username or password: there is nothing to sign up for.
  • No health questionnaire. The safety check on the home page is something you read, not a form you fill in.
  • No payment details. Card numbers are entered on the checkout, never on these pages.
  • No precise location, contacts, camera or microphone access.
  • No advertising profile. The pages carry no ad tags or social-media pixels.

Emails to the Horse Honey inbox, in practice

Please do not send card numbers, passwords or detailed health information by email. We do not need them to answer a question about a page, and email is not the right place for them. If a question depends on your health, the right person to ask is your own doctor or pharmacist, and the doctor-first list explains when that matters most.

If you point out an error, we may keep your message with the correction record, without publishing your name, so that we can show why a page changed.

Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and the Horse Honey site

Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Because these pages set no tracking or advertising cookies, there is nothing on them for the signal to switch off. The checkout is a separate site with its own policy on how it responds to those signals.

Where Horse Honey information is handled

This site is run from the United States and is meant for U.S. buyers. The companies that host and protect it may process technical logs in data centres in other states or countries. If you visit from outside the United States, your information will be handled under this policy and U.S. law.

Horse Honey privacy questions

01Does the Horse Honey site use cookies?

The pages set no advertising or analytics cookies. The hosting provider may set a strictly necessary security cookie, and the checkout sets its own after you click an order button.

02Can Horsehoneys see my card number?

No. Payment is entered on the separate secure checkout, which does not share full card numbers with this site.

03How do I ask what Horsehoneys holds about me?

Write to the website inbox listed in the site footer with “privacy request” in the subject. In most cases the answer is the email you sent and nothing more.

04Is my Horse Honey order data held here?

Order records are held by the checkout and its order desk. Ask them directly about order data; this site holds only what you send to the website inbox.

Children and the Horse Honey site

Horse Honey is for adults 18 and over, and this site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, tell us through the website inbox and we will delete it.

Keeping Horse Honey information secure

Every page is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We hold very little personal information in the first place, which is the most reliable protection of all, and what we do hold is limited to the people who need it to answer you.

Pages here link to U.S. health agencies such as the NIH, MedlinePlus, the FDA and the FTC, and every order button leads to the checkout. Once you follow one of those links you are on another website, and its own privacy policy applies. We do not pass your details to those sites when you click.

Changes to this Horse Honey privacy policy

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new revision date in the byline. A change that affects how we use information you have already given us will be explained on this page before it takes effect.
